Beams are lines that connect notes of short duration (shorter than 1/4). Beamed notes are the most common form of clusters.
You may alter the (automatic) beaming by splitting or combining clusters. A cluster of 4 or more notes
of 1/16 duration may be further split up using split-beaming in the note-properties
menu
